D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival

In 1912 the Japanese gave 3000 Cherry trees to the city of Washington DC and every year the city honors this gift by a festival. We were traveling to Turkey in 2013 and the Cherry Blossom Festival was being held the day before so we came early to see it.
